Using a license server for the first time

Note: IPS Server version 16.5 Update 1 introduced authentication of the license server endpoint. CX applications cannot use authenticated connections. The IPS 'Enable Anonymous License Access' setting must be enabled to allow CX applications to connect without authentication.

The following procedure is used when you launch CASH for the first time after installing it:

  1. When you launch CASH, the License Manager window will be displayed.

The License Manager window

  1. In the License Manager window, specify the address in the License Server field. The Connect button will now become active; click on it to connect to the server.

License server specified

  1. Once you have successfully connected to the server, the list of products licensed to your company will be displayed. Note that this list does not indicate how many individual licenses are available for use.

List of available licenses

  1. To acquire a license for a particular product, check the box in the Acquire/Release column and click on the Apply button which will now become active. If there are available licenses for this product, one will be acquired for you and the License Manager window will be closed. Your selection will be saved; when you launch CASH next time, it will automatically acquire all licenses which have the Acquire/Release box checked.

License selected

  1. When you open the License Manager window next time, licenses that you currently have will have a checkmark in the Current License column; in the example below, the user has two licenses: one is active and the other is about to expire.
